I am the Reading Specialist at Bagnall Elementary School, with over 25 years teaching experience. I'm so lucky to be able to go to work each day doing something that I love! Over the years, I have continued to learn and expand my understanding of how students learn to read. Within my role, I hope to provide support for the students, classroom teachers and special education teachers in grades K-6.
Primarily, I work with students in grades K-3. Although, when I was able to, I enjoy working with the students in the older grades as well. In collaboration with the classroom teachers, we select students whom would benefit from some additional support. This support may be provided in their classroom, in a neighboring classroom ( within their grade) or in my classroom.
I have received been certified as an Orton Gillingham Practitioner after working on a year and 1/2 long practicum. In addition, I am trained in Fountas and Pinnell Leveled Literacy Intervention, L.I.P.S. and Wilson Fundations. .
